At Body Catalyst we are committed to helping you reach your body goals and most importantly supporting you to maintain the results. This is why our clinical and wellness therapists are not only experts at body contouring but also qualified nutritionists and health professionals.
Although we are sometimes compared to beauty therapists, what we do in our clinics is very different to a beauty salon. Beauty therapists know about skin biology and cosmetics, whereas our nutritionists understand human biology, fat loss and the effect of food and lifestyle choices on the body. The Body Catalyst philosophy is that it’s not just about how the person looks, but also the way they feel on the inside. We are committed to making sure you achieve optimal health by prescribing personal treatment plans and providing information and advice about food choices and general well being, in conjunction with using the most advanced technology that science has to offer.
It is vital that we understand how your body processes, stores and eliminates fat, because our treatments aren’t just about the outside results, there are many complicated processes happening inside your body. Just like a beauty therapist can advise you on what to put on your skin to compliment a facial treatment, we can advise our clients what to put into their bodies to achieve the best results from our technology.
Studies consistently show that diet plays a huge factor in weight loss, Shawn M. Talbott, PhD, nutritional biochemist and former director of the University of Utah Nutrition Clinic explains that “As a rule of thumb, weight loss is generally 75 percent diet and 25 percent exercise. An analysis of more than 700 weight loss studies found that people see the biggest short-term results when they eat smart.” According to his studies, on average, people who dieted without exercising for 15 weeks lost 23 pounds; the exercisers lost only six over about 21 weeks. If weight loss is your goal, then the best person to have in your corner is a nutritionist.
Losing weight through diet and exercise alone can only reduce the size of unwanted fat cells, whereas scientific advancements such as cryolipolysis now allows us to eliminate them altogether. Although fat freezing is considered permanent fat loss, without the correct diet your body can create more to replace the ones you’ve eliminated. If clients consistently make inappropriate food choices it may be detrimental to the effectiveness of the technology, therefore we offer nutrition consultations with our programs, to give you the awareness to ensure the best possible outcome.
Our knowledge works alongside our body contouring technology and we believe that it’s our duty of care to provide you with the tools to maintain long lasting results to compliment the effectiveness of our treatments and support you through that process.
Our NSW director Amy McKendrick explains why we employee health experts instead of beauty therapists to work in our clinics.
“Fat gain is generally a symptom of poor health. When our body is in balance, the by product is fat loss, and our technology helps to speed that process up. This is why ethically it is so important to us that we work holistically with our clients – because we are not just about physical aesthetics; we want to help them with long term health and sustainable wellness.”
This formidable combination of science and education working together is the key to our incredible, long lasting results and making you feel supported on your journey to make the shift in your life.
